Description Chery Tiggo 4

Chery Tiggo 4 (aka Tiggo 5X in China) is a compact front-wheel drive crossover. Introduced in 2017, in 2018 it received a restyled version, and in 2020 it was updated for the second time. The updated model entered the Ukrainian market in the fall of 2020.

Design

As part of the restyling, the car has changed a lot, especially its front end. The new, more expressive design has become closer to the “big brother” Tiggo 8. In addition, the optics have also changed - now the headlights have become more restrained and stylish. New details have also appeared on the front bumper - instead of the usual running lights, there are now LED strips that visually divide the bumper into two parts.

When visualizing the side part, the designers were inspired by the flow of water - hence the many volumetric elements and stampings. The design of the rear end has not changed much, visually becoming wider due to the chrome line between the headlights, which complements the changes in the front end.

Dimensions

The total length of the restyled Chery Tiggo 4 is 4318 mm, the width is 1831 mm, the height is 1679 mm, and the wheelbase is 2610 mm. The front suspension is independent, McPherson type, the rear is semi-independent torsion bar. Ground clearance - 171 mm.

The strength elements of the body are 70% composed of various grades of high-strength steel produced by Bentler, which also supplies metal to Mercedes-Benz and BMW factories.

Interior

The interior of Tiggo 4 is decorated in dark colors with gray accents and metallic elements. The seats are combined, fabric / eco leather, with the ability to adjust in three directions for the driver and two for the passenger. The backrests of the second row seats are folded separately in a ratio of 40/60.

On the center console is a 9-inch touch screen display, under which there is a microclimate control zone. The instrument panel is classic, with analog speedometer and tachometer scales and a 3.5-inch on-board computer screen. The steering wheel of the crossover is multifunctional, with the ability to control the multimedia system, cruise control, as well as the keys for answering/ending calls.

Comfort and Options

The multimedia system of the updated Tiggo 4 is completely Russified and supports communication with Android and iOS devices, as well as connections via the Mirror Link protocol. Thanks to this feature, you can mirror your phone's screen on a 9-inch HD screen, including video playback. The display also displays an image of the rear view camera, which is included in all configurations for the Ukrainian market.

In addition to this, the car is equipped with electric windows for all doors, exterior mirrors with electric adjustment and heating, a light sensor, a tire pressure monitoring system and other options.

Technology and security

The driver and front passenger are protected by frontal airbags. Also in the cabin there is an ISOFIX child seat mount. The car comes with disc brakes, anti-lock braking system and brake force distribution, and in difficult situations, the Bosch 9.3 dynamic electronic stabilization system will additionally come to the rescue.

Engines and transmissions

Unlike predecessor with a turbo engine, the updated Tiggo 4 is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with variable valve timing. Its power is 113 hp and torque is 141 Nm from the company. The power unit is combined with both a 5-speed manual transmission and a stepless CVT variator.
